Pierre Bouret moved to Kauai in 1970 to pursue his passion for surfing. Once on island, he was captivated by the beauty and magnificence of the surrounding landscape. These images inspired him to paint Kauai in plein air in all her natural splendor. Hawaii's mountains, waterfalls cascading into the ever changing sea and moments of magical light and shadow have provided an endless source of material for his Hawaii paintings.

Lee moved to Kauai in the mid-90s attracted by the Aloha Spirit and the beauty that surrounds the Hawaiian Islands. He is basically a self taught artist. His love of surfing and painting come together, an expression of his inner self which is beautifully captured in his work. Clark puts his sensitivity and acrylic paint on canvas to create images of "perfect waves", as realistic as photographs. Murals, surfboards, T-Shirts, cars, decals have all been touched by Clark's creativity. The island continues to inspire Clark's each day. "When I look at the waves breaking I can see the brush strokes. I feel so inspired here. Kauai is definitely 'God's masterpiece' I just copy his work."

Many Hawaiian shells are indigenous to the island chain; some are not only collected, but are also rare insurable gems. Kahelelani shells were made popular by the Royal Hawaiian culture of Niihau, and have now become a favorite of locals and visitors alike. Shells have been collected, and strung into leis to adorn royalty and to be worn at special ceremonies, such as weddings and funerals. Kahelelani shell lei were given to the deceased as a final Aloha to their loved ones. Now they are donned for every occasion and treasured for their natural beauty.

Even though island of Niihau is inaccessible to the public, Kahelelani and Sunrise shells may also be found on various beaches throughout the island chain. Sunrise shells are richly colored and probably the most rare and collectable of all Hawaiian shells. They are a blessing to discover, and an honor to share. Rare indeed.

I was born on the beautiful North Shore of Kauai, spent my years as a youth on the Big Island of Hawaii, where I surfed and played along the rocky Puna coast. I have always been inspired to create, blessed and nurtured by the amazing creation before me. I am mostly self-taught. I've found painting to be a wonderful and expressive medium; increasingly exciting and fulfilling."Nurtured by the amazing creation before me."Since my car accident, I have found that the creative spirit flows nearly as easily by mouth as by hand. I enjoy all mediums: acrylics, oils, watercolors, and digital. I'm inspired by the cultural diversity of Hawaii and the beauty of our world, in which I find a rich, limitless source.

My name is Steve Hashi. Having lived on Kauai for the past 25 years, I am intimately familiar with the island energies that have propelled me toward this point of artistic expression. These elements are reflected in my work, and are at the very heart of why I create as I do. Oh, and speaking of intimate energies, the work that you are viewing consists of a collaborative effort between me and Jan Ekleberry, who is also my beautiful and artistically-gifted girlfriend.

That Aloha Spirit is the wonderful inspiration behind the art that Jan and I create. Growing up in Santa Monica, California, I developed an early bond with the ocean. I became an avid surfer and fisherman, and as such, found myself drawn to Kauai, moving here in 1990. Strangely enough, my primary occupation on Kauai, has been as a general contractor. General contracting is in many ways, at the other end of the spectrum, artfully-speaking. But contracting gave me the opportunity to raise mythree children here in this paradise, as a single dad. This experience has been a precious one to me in that it has given me the chance to watch my kids discover the same love and appreciation of Kauai, for themselves. Seeing them experience the island in their own unique ways, is a dream for me as a father.

Personally, I do supply input on design, but my forte is in cutting, shaping, and setting the stained glass and mirrors which bring the design work to fruition. My construction background comes into play here because in addition to tile work, plumbing, and carpentry were a part of my area of skill. Finally, after the inner workings are complete, all pieces are set with thin-set adhesive and then grouted so that they last, are durable, and are reborn just as awesome as they were when they rode the waves. You can see that spirit in every piece. We feel it in every part of the process that allows us to artistically bring what might have been landfill, back to life as something different but still preservative of the ocean, the thrill of waves, and the bond of the rider and the board.

In 2010 Evelin moved to Hawaii, where she fell in love with the beauty of the islands and developed a reverence for the sea. Evelin renders images of beach life with tropical flare and unique color palette. Her paintings capture magic moments in the lives of beach goers and surfers. Painting, playing in the ocean and surfing are her passions; beach-side lifestyle, nature, tropical sceneries and palm trees are all inspirations for her paintings.

A man of nature, David was always found in flower beds or trees from a very young age. He started surfing when he was nine, which expanded his love of the land to the ocean and all the life it hosts. Time spent during the 70's living near Tunnels beach in a tipi and in Taylor Camp added to the richness and psychedelic motion of his art form. Tilling the earth by hand, to plant and grow the sugarloaf white pineapple for all to taste it's nectar, only brings him deeper into connection with the rich & loamy soil that gives life. This relationship with the beauty & spirit of the earth are always apparent and lovingly translated in the wonder of his work.

But the true element that makes David's work so full of beauty and heart, is his authentic nature to love and care for the land and his family. He has raised seven of his children at home in Ha'ena, where most of them were conceived and born. An abundance of food, from trees planted years ago, are climbed in & foraged by little hands. There is a bursting of life and living that offers David both muse and respite to take time and create....... 2ff7e9595c
